The Tampa Bay real estate market is showing signs of stabilizing. Inventory in the Tampa real estate board has gone from 16,868 units on 12/31/2010 to 8,400 units at the end of June 2012. The good news for buyers is that prices are still low and so are interest rates. You can own a home for considerably less than you could rent the same house. But, with inventory this low the competition for nicer homes is heating up. All good reasons not to wait if you are considering purchasing a home - whether for your personal residence or as an investment.
